About Timothy Lee Avers

The Write Guy

Tim graduated with a bachelors degree in Political Science and Communications from Lipscomb University in 1998. Although he’d already been in the workforce for years, he considers being marketing director for a niche publishing company the start of his career. “Contrary to my title, I mostly wrote ad copy, developed catalogues, and point of purchase material. In the first year I saved the company $15,000 and improved retail outreach.” Today, Tim focuses mainly on projects that improve productivity, such as a program he helped develop for his team. “Within the first week we achieved a 26% increase in productivity, building on a manual I developed using front-line process information.” In 2021, Tim hopes to bring more innovation to his workplace and continue his professional development while publishing an original creative project.

Twenty-first Century

“The world needs fresh prospective and new voices,” Tim says, “and that’s why I’m throwing my hat back into fiction.” Tim’s writing has primarily been practical, with the occasional pop culture piece for FreakSugar.com in the intervening years since his earlier publication. “Fiction is a crowded market but it’s not particularly innovative, and when it is, writers often have issues connecting with an audience. The audience is paramount.” Tim’s new project with a creator he’s long respected will be digital first and focuses on a novel protagonist and world building. “I’m lucky to be creating with a really masterful storyteller and have proof of concept both within our target audience and outside of it. All the right eyes light up and shrugs come from exactly the right places!”

“I am against an adjournment. The day of judgment is either approaching, or it is not. If it is not, there is no cause of an adjournment: if it is, I choose to be found doing my duty.”
